BMW se afla intr-o situatie nu foarte placuta cand vine vorba de noile sale masini cu transmisie doar pe puntea fata.
De fapt vorbim de aceeasi platforma tehnica intalnita pe gama Seria 1, 2 Gran Tourer, X1 insa si Seria 2 Gran Coupe au motoare transversale fata.
Adica aceste masini nu mai au configuratia clasica cu motoare longitudinale cu transmisie standard pe puntea spate.
De aici vedem ca aceste masini BMW nu mai au cutia autoamta ZF8 pentru ca aceasta nu intra fizic in compartimentul motor.
Un alt rezultat direct este scaderea considerabila a performantelor rutiere, iar noul BMW 128ti de 265 CP nu reuseste sa fie mai rapid decat o banala Fiesta ST sau un tot la fel de banal Golf 8 GTI cu motorizari mult mai slabe.
